Counterspy
This site indicates that your modem is Linux supported but with different chips by PCTel, and several others: http://pctelcompdb.sourceforge.net/display.php . Your problem is that it is a Winmodem which Linux of any flavour does not have fond feelings for. Try this how-to to see if it helps: http://www.peacefulaction.org/sayamindu/pctel.html and you may need to return here: http://pctelcompdb.sourceforge.net/ if you have problems. Let us know how you make out. Counterspy

I am close but still can't get dialup tools to recognize the modem.
