aRTee
Since the demise of pwcx, the closed source module to have vga resolution with Philips based webcams (most Philips webcams, and lots of others, like logitech, etc) was made not to function anymore (the pwc driver had a hook, and since no hooks for proprietary code are allowed in the kernel, the hook had to go, and so the pwcx doesn't work anymore), I've been looking at a stamp size moving image of myself on my webcam (gnomemeeting, camstream).... Now, I don't really use the cam, but I'd like to know how to get it to work. I came across one page where some guy explained he'd already managed to reverse engineer quite a bit; does anyone know how to easily get the cams that use pwc (pwcx) to do vga resolution? I'm talking about Mandrake 10.1CE, 10.0 still was fine (see my website).
aRTee
Ok, seems I have to do it all myself. :( Luckily, I managed. :P For the pwcx driver, there now is an open source solution, basically follow this info: http://www.saillard.org/pwc/INSTALL.en with this driver: http://www.saillard.org/pwc/pwc-10.0.4.tar.bz2 more stuff (readme's and such) in http://www.saillard.org/pwc/ Edited October 19, 2004 by aRTee
