Dustpuppy
Before splurging out money, I thought I'd check with theknowledgeable folkes here - is the following Linksys router a good one to use with 10OE? ebuyer Also, are there any good tutorials on how to set up a router network (I'm assuming the in-box instructions will be for M$ )? BTW, I'm on broadband connecting via the ubiquitious speedtouch 330 modem. TIA!
Gowator
looks fine, the setup is all via a web page on the router itself and ethernet and linux are more or less foolproof... I have set up probably the same model or predecessor and it does what it says on the box, cant say fairer than that! If you think you might use WiFi then it might be wortyh the extra few quid for an 11mbit or extra tenner for 54 mbit?
Dustpuppy
Thanks, Gowater! That sounds nice and manageable. Re: wireless, I think I'm far too poor to be able to put three computers on wireless. Anyway, I rather like the sight of a 15m ethernet cable running up the stairwell - it does say "here be Geek" quite well!! :D
Gowator
I guess so, its just if you think you might get it in the future its only a small incremental difference in cost... right now Im using one but withiut the Wifi until I can find the windows driver files for my Netgear WG311 to use with ndis wrapper.
