Installing Linux was a breeze but when I tried to reboot, grub comes up, I chose Linux but when its booting the screnn turns black except for a little curser in the upper left corner. Here's what I'm using in my grub.conf: kernel /boot/kernel-2.6.8 root=/dev/ram0 init=/linuxrc ramdisk=8192 real_root=/dev/hda3 nolapic initrd /boot/initrd-2.6.8 I am thankful for any suggestions. arctic Posted September 26, 2004 Report Share Posted September 26, 2004 umm... actually the black monitor could be caused by a lot of things. :unsure: could you add some more info about the hardware your comp has, like graphic card, network-device, hard disk (SATA?), usb devices etc.?
