Melekor
Hello, I had a desktop with windows xp on it already, added a 10 gig HD to the system it already had a 40 gig installed mandrake on the 10 gig using Grub as a boot loader, but now windows xp wont boot at all just sits there with the windows xp screen?? Did I mess up the boot record for xp? The 40gig (win xp) is the master and the 10 gig is the slave. also these are on a ide raid set up for seperate channels ie it sees them as a normal IDE controller would not trying to raid them at all. Any help would be apprecitated. Thanks Melekor
Guest Basie
If when you select XP from the boot menu and it boots to a WinXP screen then I don't think it's a bootloader problem. XP does that alot whether in dual boot or not. Did you try pressing F8 right after you chose XP to see if you get into Safe Mode. If you can get into Safe Mode then try a System Restore from there. Start>All Programs> Accessories>System Tools>System Restore. Not sure about your using raid channels having any effect. I use them with no problems
