Hello, I had a desktop with windows xp on it already, added a 10 gig HD to the system it already had a 40 gig installed mandrake on the 10 gig using Grub as a boot loader, but now windows xp wont boot at all just sits there with the windows xp screen?? Did I mess up the boot record for xp? The 40gig (win xp) is the master and the 10 gig is the slave. also these are on a ide raid set up for seperate channels ie it sees them as a normal IDE controller would not trying to raid them at all. Any help would be apprecitated. Thanks Melekor

Oh and on another note if run from a term session after the error comes up and gtkterm starts get the repeat message in the term window Control signals read: Input/output error Did not mention I guess sorry, but Gtkterm will start and run, just no communication with the router it is connected to. Dont want to use minicom dont like it thus trying to use gtkterm Yes, ttys0 is set up Cable works fine with hyperterm from a windows box ...... using gtkterm-0.99.4 souce from sourceforge Standard OS from mandrake 10 download cd's Yes tons of files where needed before it would even complie, I downloaded and installed all the required dependances Running Mandrake 10 on a IBM thinkpad Need it to configure and console into Cisco routers ect...... Hello everbody, was just wondering if anybody knows or could recomend a hyperterm type program for Mandrake 10.0 I configure quite a few routers and need something that I can hook directly to the com port, preferably a gui version. My thanks, Melekor

Just installed Mandrake 10.0, second time on a IBM thinkpad A22m, well to make a long story short, evertime I make a change to a network device, ie change an IP, or set it to DHCP ect, hit apply then ok and boom, nothing works anymore machine does not lock up so to speak but cant open a term session, or any app they all error out or just 'Time Out', a Ctrl/Alt/Backspace restarting X will fix this, but I mean is this windows 98??? Trying to get the Sim City 3000 working on my Laptop. Have the update sc3u-2.0a-x86.run . But when I try and run it I get this error. [patman@localhost patman]$ sh sc3u-2.0a-x86.run Verifying archive integrity...Error in check sums 3615833336 2069455402 [patman@localhost patman]$ The Check sums are off?? can I override this or remove the check? Thanks.
