Guest hotburner2001
Hi all, I have noticed a beta version of 10.1 is available on linuxiso.org. Given the few install problems that some have encountered, should I rather go for 10.1, even beta? Or is that too big a risk since I'm a linux beginner? Thanks for any input, after that I'll give it a try! Jo
DJ_Max
Well, most people would tell you to go with a Stable version. Beta's are for people who want to beta test, or are comfortable fixing things themselves.
arctic
stick to mandrake 10.0 official edition or wait till 10.1 official comes out. betas are nothing for newbies, same goes for the community edition. both are bug-testing versions that will surely use up your patience. :)
Guest hotburner2001
Thanks for the tip. the version I was going to install was the community one. I started downloading the official one and will try my luck. I'll make sure to bug you if I hit an install wall :- )) Thanks, Jo
