Guest Soulreaper
I just installed Linux for my first time and all went well except for one thing. For some reason I am unable to acess the internet, and im not sure whats wrong. I looked were it lists all the network connections and there was one listed in there, i also tried manually setting one up and still no net. Guest MadDog
How about some more info please For example, type of connection, modem or board type, what are you looking at and what do you actually see? All this will help
ShineDesign
You said you tried setting one up manually, which did not work. Did you delete the previous network profile configuration first? Try deleting all network connections you have from the Mandrake Control Center (mcc from terminal) and then set a new one up. That will stop the network service and restart it with fresh settings. If this doesn't work, what type of connection do you have? What type of network card (if it's cable/dsl that is), if not what modem?
mtaylor57
You should also add in if you've got DHCP or static IP, and if you're behind a router, or connecting straight through...
