Guest Longboarder
Hey, Just about to buy MDK 9.0 (hopefully) and I have an old packard bell celeron 300Mhz with mostly onboard bits. It has 64Mb of ram. Is this good enough to run MDK 9.0 reasonably well? If it's not, what minimum spec would you recommend? All help is much appreciated, Thanks Longboarder. Guest Mandrake_Mouse
It should run ok. Although I'd suggest upping the RAM a bit if you plan to use a desktop like Gnome or KDE. I have my son (he's 7) using an old 233 with 92 MB of RAM, and pretty much everything is onboard, except the modem. He can't run anything really graphics intensive, like Tux Racer, but he has fun with SDL games, and wine runs ok, too.
