ShineDesign
I've re-installed the latest NVidia drivers, made sure my device in XF86Config-4 is set to "nvidia" and not "nv", and installed all OpenGL dependant packages from the software section of MCC. Why aren't my OpenGL screensavers working? How can I run them from the terminal to see any error outputs?
ShineDesign
Odd...they show up fine from KDE Control Center (ran as root of course), but not at all when ran as my normal user...all permissions seem to be in order too...what could it be? Gowator
try running glxgears first... if its not installed you can installit from the CD's but its easier to test this way :D
ShineDesign
Ahhh...when running that it tells me that the restrictions are set too restrictive. Leme see what I can do to fix that...
ShineDesign
OoooOOOOhhh wonderfull... The readme file that the error brought up told me that in order to fix the permissions problem, I needed to delete the line associated with <dri> within the /etc/security/console.perms file. What a can of worms that opened up! Now my superblock can't mount the drives, and says my filesystem is not working as it should. As this is the only change I've done, I'm sure that's the cause of it. Good thing I backed up the original file before editing it...now I just gotta download and run Knoppix to reload the backup over the main. Cross your fingers....I hope this works...I really don't want to have to reconfigure my whole linux install again.... -reporting from the horrid M$ operating system-
