ShineDesign
Yet more problems... All of a sudden I can't open Mplayer anymore. It just attempts to open, then dissapears. I've uninstalled it and re-installed, no luck. What's going on here?
devries
Open it from a console and see what errors you're getting. (BTW is it mplayer or gmplayer (mplayer with a gui) that you are using? If it's gmplayer my guess would be a problem with the skin. Easiest solution: remove the folder $HOME/.mplayer, more elegant solution edit the gui.conf and change gui_skin to Default.) Good luck

devries
What do those flags -quiet -nofs do? And what does 'at least launches but useless' mean? :D Try gmplayer -v And do check your skins. :D
iphitus
try changing your video output. if you arent sure, its in the manual, man mplayer
ShineDesign
The problem was the "ao-arts" command I had added to /home/einstein/.mplayer/config For some reason it doesn't like that command (which is used for adding the arts sound driver option fro the audio section in preferences) Weeiiirrdd............
