I have a laptop (TOSHIBA) with a CS4291 sound card (Cirrus Logic)... Doesn't seem to work in Mandrake 10 Download edition... The OS recognizes it as what it is, but no sound... How do I start the sound and or configure it?

the OS (In the Mandrake/Linux Control Center under HARDWARE) shows it as: Crystal CS4281 PCI Audio

Where can I go to check and see if it working or not? When I run TOTEM Media PLayer, it says

wait... never mind... it freakin works... what the hell... I am the freakin man... damn

Hello.

What driver do you use ? Alsa, OSS ?

Try to setup your mixer with alsamixer and/or, if you are using KDE, with kmix.

Perhaps one channel is in mute mode ...

Good luck

(sorry for my english)
