hilbert
The hardware database in Mandrake does not give users enough information to determine if a hardware device is supported. The Logitech QuickCam is reported as know hardware to work in Mandrake 9.0 but it truly does not. My company just bought Logitech QuickCam pro 4000. I plugged it to my Linux machine. The usbview showed unknown device. I cannot find /dev/video or /dev/v4l at all. Does any succeed to make a Web camera work ever? What Web cameras or scanners are supported?
Counterspy
I would check the Logitech site for drivers or other information, and then use Google. AFAIK, this is the first I have heard of this problem. There is also a Linux Hardware Database at http://lhd.zdnet.com/ that may be of help. They have a driver section as part of that db.
