Guest sebasjuh
At the install of mandrake 10 I get the page to create a user, so I created a user with all the rigths. But in mandrake in the root when I want to start the service proftp I get, permission denied! Where can I see what users there are? And where can I change the rights of the users??? Ixthusdan
Erm....... If root can't do something, you have more serious problems than user permissions! Mandrake Control Center (Configure your computer)>System>Users and Groups
Padma
I'm not sure what you mean by creating "a user with all the rights". ;) And are you logging in as that user or as "root"?
aRTee
do, as root: service ftpd start and tell us what the output of the system is to that.
