As soon as X and KDE started everything (almost; I'll leave the ADSL question for another topic) worked allright; I could even hear the sound: this was the first mandrake distro that recognized automatically the SBlaster audigy! great! YET: yet, the third time I rebooted the sound disappeared. I've checked the mixer, and it seems allright. What's happened??? arctic Posted August 26, 2004 Report Share Posted August 26, 2004 check your mixer if something is muted. also look in e.g. kcontrol center ("configure my desktop") in the sound section -> sound setup, then on the right select the "hardware" tab and change from "auto select" to ALSA or OSS (ALSA works for most). i hope it helps you in any way. ;) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
