I have tried everything I know: google x 1000 , move every slider in kmix , aumix, alsa mixer , but there is no response in teamspeak rc2. the mic works , because I hear myself when it is unmuted. I'm stuck , not sure where to go now , besides another diistro and I don't wanna do that. :D

Yes I did see that in a nother post, and gave it a try. No dice. This is frustrating because teamspeak worked fine with 10.0 but I needed 10.1 to have my wireless card working. Now I have the wireless card but the mic doesn't work in teamspeak. I can hear myself through the speakers when the mic is unmuted, but can't get the green light showing an active mic in teamspeak.

Did you try the forums at www.teamspeak.org?

You didn;t say what card you have but there are "recipes" in the forums vfor a lot of cards.

I couldn't get my soundblaster 5.1 working with teamspeak until I found a post that said: go to alsamixer, then do x, do z, enbale y, .... and now it works fine.

In particular you need to toggle the capture flag for the right entry, set the mic volume, but the part that I hadn't figured out on my own was an entry called AC97 or something like that.

Well I have a soundblaster live 5.1. and I did look at the teamspeak forum both before and after you reply, but I'm still stuck. I'm still searching. I will definately post the solution once I figure it out. Seems strange since it worked fine with 10.0.

Just FYI, the post I was thinking of is this one: http://forum.goteamspeak.com/showthread.php?t=9658

specifically:

Well, open alsamixer, and make sure you have:

"Mic" in 0% Volume (zero), and "Capture" writen over it (use space to toggle the capture flag).

Mic Boost muted (MM over it, use "m" to toggle)

"Capture" at 80% Volume, and capture flag set (capture writen over it)

"AC97 Capture" at 100%

Nothing else (except "Mic" and "Caputure" to have the Capture flag set).

I figured I'd throw it on since other people may stumble on this thread to solve this probelm, even though it appears it's not waht's hailing you.

Also for reference, here's a good help page on the Sound Blaster products under linux: http://alsa.opensrc.org/index.php?page=emu10k1 especially http://alsa.opensrc.org/index.php?page=SbLiveMixerControls
