Guest adventurepants
hey cats, Mandy 10 community. ADM8211 wireless based card. Got myself the open source driver, have run the makefile, and inserted 8211.o as specified. Problem is that it appears as eth0 and not as wlan0. How do i make it appear as a wireless device? getting wireless working is pretty much my last step in going over to Linux full time. Any help is mucho appreciated. Guest adventurepants
HI, i have a card based on the ADM8211 b chip and cannot for the life of me get connected to my router. I have got the manufacturers drivers, run the makefile, and insmod the module. When i ifconfig, it appears as eth0. When i iwconfig it also appears at eth0. I have followed several guides, but cannot set the ESSID or ip number, or get it to grap an ip number from DHCP. I am completely stuck and have tried to follow various threads but i always get stuck. Does anyone have a working 8211 chip under Mandy 10 community, and could they please post how they got it working?

There is no need to post in more than one forum - most people use the 'view new posts' facility, so you shouldn't be overlooked...
