I can't log back onto my SMC DSL router after reboot

I have a SMC Barricade DSL/Cable router with my Mandrake 9.0 and 2 Win98 machines (my 2 daughter's) on it. After having the network up and running for about a month I rebooted my machine. Now I can't log back onto the network with my machine. I have reset the router, changed the config on my machine to every conceivable setting and still I can't get on. The windows machines are working and are connected (I am using one to write this post). The manual for the router is written only for Windoze so it is little help. I have tried to access the login page on the router and am told the "connection was refused".

Any ideas???

TIA

Well, It seems that you have a connection problems.

just make sure it's not a hardward problem or connection

cable by any chance.

after at a prompt.

try this, ifup eth0

it will try to bring your ethernet card up

eth0 is your first card.

try a ifconfig -a

should give you a ip address
