santner
My brother-in-law wants to upgrade his memory, but he currently had RDRAM(Rambus) memory. Does that mean that his mobo only supports RDRAM memory, or could he buy SDRAM and install it ok? Thanks. :P

tyme
also keep in mind RDRAM must be put in in pairs (atleast, that's my understanding).
xbob
also keep in mind RDRAM must be put in in pairs (atleast, that's my understanding). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> At least installed in pairs, and unused sockets have to have a dummy installed/placeholder installed. Such poor design, too bad Intel wasted all those months pushing RDram only to admit DDR was better in the end.
VeeDubb
Seriously, tell him to buy a new motherboard. it's realy not tough to rebuild you PC and it can be a heck of a lot of fun. Just back everything up first, because the worst case scenario is that you'll have to re-install the OS. MOBO's are cheap and it's fun, and it's an excelent learning experience. I personaly reccomend Soyo motherboards for their ease of configuration and stability, and if money is a serious issue, like it was the alst time I upgraded my mobo, you might look into an as-rock. They're nothing fancy but mine seems quite stable and it was dirt cheap.
