nocturnes
I need to update many programs to newer versions using urpmi. How is this done? The only thing I have used urpmi for in the past is getting new packages installed. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The easiest way to do this is to go to this address: Easy URPMI by plf and choose an update server near you. Then just enter it as they suggest and away you go. This will enter the correct (you may have to try a couple of servers to get a working one) information into RPMDrake. Nice and easy
santner
They don't list an update server to use on that site. Just contrib, main and plf?
Guest anon
Select your MDK version and then choose "main" If you want to add PLF stuff, you must add Contrib also as many PLF files need the Contrib resource.
nocturnes
Are you choosing (and do you have) Community Edition or the full-noise version? The full one gives you an update server. Or, as per anon
santner
That was the problem. I was choosing Community Edition. Thanks! :D
SwiftDeath
Also if you want everything updated automatically. Open a terminal Su (logs into root) enter password urpmi --auto-select --auto (automatically updates everything) exit (quits terminal)
