Guest Sparkchaser
I'm running apache on Mandrake 9.0 and I have a fixed IP address with a registered domain successfully running and pointed at the server, but I just can't grasp what I need to do to set up sub domains. For example, www.mydomain.com and mydomain.com work, but how would I configure things so that user1.mydomain.com directs to /home/user1/public_html and user2.mydomain.com points to /home/user2/public_html, etc. I'm using zoneedit.com for the DNS, and I tried using web forwards, which sort of works, but when I go to user1.mydomain.com, mozilla shows mydomain.com/~user1/ in the navigation bar. I've been digging around the bbs's and looking on search engines, but can't seem to get the right search query for the question.
Guest Sparkchaser
Never mind, I got it working... I had to enable wildcards in the DNS server and remove all of the forwards
