Guest pure_enrg
I have 10.0 Official and yesterday I decided to fiddle with the graphic card settings in Mandrake Control Center. I ran into some problems when changing my graphic card and monitor. I'm using a ATI 9200SE with ATI's fglrx driver and a Phillps Monitor. Both of these where listed as unknown in the control center. I did find them and set them up. After I did this I tried to exit the control center and it hung. Now anytime I try to access the control center, after I put my root pw in, it hangs on the splash screen. So where can I look to fix this? What log file should I look into? Some things that I tried was to urpme the fglrx driver and reinstall in failsafe mode, but the control center still hangs. Everything else works great. Guest pure_enrg
Have you ran the kde updates? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This happens in Gnome and KDE. I have all the current updates installed Thanks
devries
The same happened to me (KDE + Nvidia). Couldn't even kill -9 it. Only thing that would work was a reboot. :(

Ixthusdan
Even though it is both kde and gnome, Mandrake uses kde for its gui stuff. Since it starts from a terminl, it is definitely a kde problem. For myself, with all updates, kde has problems with sound. Since it is a well-known and very common soundblaster live card, it has to be a bug in kde as well. So, I think the next update with kde rpm's is what I am looking for. (llogic-al was suppose to make them, but he bailed!)
