Guest leon244
I am trying to connect my Sony Handycam DCR-HC40 to my system. I am using Mandrake 10.0 Official using the 2.6.3 kernel. The camera connects via a USB port and when I plug it in the following message is seen in /var/log/messages: kernel: usb 3-2: new full speed USB device using address 2 usb.agent[3650]: ... no modules for USB product 54c/2e/500 The camera is recognized by the system and /proc/bus/usb/devices shows: T: Bus=03 Lev=01 Prnt=01 Port=01 Cnt=01 Dev#= 10 Spd=12 MxCh= 0 D: Ver= 2.00 Cls=00(>ifc ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS=64 #Cfgs= 1 P: Vendor=054c ProdID=002e Rev= 5.00 S: Manufacturer=Sony S: Product=Sony DSC C:* #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=c0 MxPwr= 2mA I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 3 Cls=08(stor.) MxPS= 8 Ivl=255ms I am hoping that someone might know a solution. I had one suggestion from a usb forum but that was to edit the /drivers/usb/unusual_dev.h file and rebuild the kernel. As a newbie I was hoping there was a solution that would avoid that. Sony has been no help. Thanks
