okay, now something really weird (stupid/buggy?) happened to me... i was working with blackbox as root, administrating my box. later opened via konsole the kcontrol in order to change konquerors behavior. some messages appeared about gui... then i logged off again in order to log in as normal user. result: blackbox dead, icewm dead, tvm dead, X won't work somehow. i restarted my box (mandrake 10oe with all patches applied) and only got bash-line in order to login all loginmanagers were dead, too.

i checked the x-session.error message and it says:

startkde: Starting up...

The application 'magicdev' lost its connection to the display :0.0;

most likely the X server was shut down or you killed/destroyed

the application.

:furious3:

okay, any idea how i can repair my x environment without reinstalling?
