santner Posted July 9, 2004 Report Share Posted July 9, 2004 I just installed a Lite-ON DVD-RW drive and everything is humming along except when I boot up, there is a 20 second or so delay with a black screen and a blinking cursor on the beginning of the first line. illogic-al Posted July 10, 2004 Report Share Posted July 10, 2004 is this right when you hit the power button? you might have the dvdrw set to Cable select. I always set the jumper (on the back of the drive) to the opposite of the other drive. If there is no other drive then I would set it to be the Master.
