steward75
Can anyone help me with this, Done this a coupel times in the past no problems and now all of the sudden I'm coming up with this problem Installed MDK10 with KDE at install time. At a later time I installed Gnome. I did the little work around cause I like to log in from the command prompt, and I added the file "desktop" to the users directory. In that file I have the line "gnome-session" which tells X to start up Gnome instead of KDE3. I start up KDE great, no problems. THEN when I go to log out of Gnome and X, instead of being returned back to the command prompt, I'm sent to KDE!!! ARGH. And when I quite KDE THEN I'm sent back to the command line. Does anyone know what's going on and how I can fix this? Thanks.
Qchem
Shouldn't this go into your .xinitrc, rather than the desktop file? I guess .xinitrc is loading KDE, then your desktop file loads gnome.
