Guest astrogeek
Hello, I have 9.2 installed on my computer with the following configuration: Ultra Dragon P4X400 Socket 478 Intel P4-2.66Ghz 512 MB PC3200 DDR 400 MHz 120 GB EIDE HD XFX GeForce FX 5200 256MB DDR 8X AGP I/O Magic 4x DVD+/- RW Burner I am trying to install 10.0 Official but I get the welcome screen and press enter. A screen of information follows. I've included some of the highlights. "Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 00000000 printing eip C0272209 CPU 0 ... ... kernel panic: attempted to kill init!" I have tried pressing F1 and load using the noapic nolapic noioapic etc. options to no avail - I get the same error. Any suggestions as to the cause of my difficulties? I had no problems installing 9.2 on this same machine 6 months ago.
Ixthusdan
md5sum the iso's? Use good media? Slow down the burn speed? These are the most obvious. Other issues cold be ram or processor, but it is unlikely. Note: even a purchased set can have errors. I would suspect the data/media before hardware.
