Mandrake10 install-Screen goes blank after cd boot

Hey everyone

I am a fairly seasoned linux user, but I just can't figure this out. I am trying to install Mandrake 10 64-bit version on my new amd64 3200 system. The installation cd boots just fine, and I can get to the first screen. If I hit enter to install, the screen just goes blank and stays that way. If I hit F1, i can get to the screen with the advanced options. All the boot options (linux, vgalo, etc) produce the same problem. If I boot text mode, it starts to load but hangs on the part about the crpytography API.. I am assuming that it hangs on that part when trying to boot the graphical installation as well. Anyone else experience anything like this before? Thanks :afro:
