Guest agomes
Hi, I've this system with multiboot (Win98, Win2k and Mdk 10.0) with Lilo as boot manager. Lilo created several Linux entries - 3 with "smp". The sys works fine with normal Linux entry - Control Cent. - Hardware - only detects one processor, so far so good. But, choosing one of the "smp" variants ( P III, i686, and Linux smp ) gets to dead ends: 1st choice can go up to login sometimes, but afterwards all it does is to show a blue screen ans a stopped watch. The other two tend to produce a black frozen screen just after Kernel decompression step. Mandrake says that installing a smp kernel would work. This puts me a doubt: when the Lilo entries were created, install didn't get the appropriate kernel configs? How shall I proceed to install a smp Kernel? Going to CC, etc, and using install discs? (I've download version) Downloading a new one? Has it to be the same 2.6.x as the originally installed? I would appreciate some help and indications at real newbie level pls
