temp monitoring

First you need to get lm_sensors working (do a search of this forum or google). Ideally find instructions specific to your motherboard.

Once typing "sensors" at the command line returns sensible values, you can install gkrellm (in the mandrake control panel->software->install do a search for gkrellm).

It'll allow you to display temperatures, fan speeds and much more (disk access, eth activity, emmory usage, you name it).

Another alternative to gkrellm is ksensors. I know it was included with earlier version of mandrake, not usre if it's in mdk10 or not but you could download it from the net (just make sure you get a mandrake build for it)

I'm sure there are other packages too but I think those are the two most popular and I know gkrellm is included in mdk10 OE. The hard part is getting lm_sensors working, which can range from trivial to frustrating.
