Dear All

I'm thinking about to buy a new Toshiba portable (model A40 201) but I would like to ensure I will be able to install Mandrake Linux 10 on it without major issues.

Could someone tell me if this model would be a good choice?

Is there a hardware compatibility list somewhere where I can check portable's readiness for Mandrake Linux 10?

Thanks a lot

:help:

Toshiba laptops can be a bit of a pain to setup, but once it runs, it runs like a champ. Almost everything works (with exception of the suspend to disk usually) in my toshiba laptop as you can see in my sig.

Anyway, the best way to check for laptop compatibility is to go to http://www.tuxmobil.org and check for your laptop compatibility with linux. If it runs with one distro, it wil usually run with the rest.
