ATI Radeon 9600 & Kernel

Donwloaded and installed 10.0 mdk...

 

comes with kernel-2.6.3-7mdk source...

 

downloaded driver for me ati radeon 9600...

 

It can not find version.h in /usr/src/linux/includes.. or what ever.. But in the includes there is stuff all... when i update the kernel source with is 2.6.3-13mdk, is had the version.h... why does -7mdk not have version.h?

Mysteriously, the sources for the kernel were not included. Update your kernel to 13mdk along with the current sources and you'll be fine.

You do not have to build a kernel. Download the rpms

kernel-2.6.3-13mdk-1-1mdk.i586.rpm

kernel-source-2.6.3-13mdk.i586.rpm

 

And install them with urpmi.

Mandrake update will only download and install the kernel-source. You have to fetch the actual kernel and install it yourself. Any mirror will have it in the 10 updates folder.
