Hello all:

I live in an area serviced by Ricochet high speed wireless internet service. I have a Metricom GS USB modem and have not been able to get Mandrake 10 to recognize it. It says it finds a Metricom USB modem but it's and unknown device?

Here is /var/log/messages:

Jun 12 07:25:50 localhost kernel: usb 1-2: new full speed USB device using address 4

Jun 12 07:25:55 localhost kernel: usb 1-2: control timeout on ep0in

Jun 12 07:25:56 localhost kernel: cdc_acm 1-2:1.0: ttyACM0: USB ACM device<6>drivers/usb/core/usb.c: registered new driver cdc_acm

Jun 12 07:25:56 localhost kernel: drivers/usb/class/cdc-acm.c: v0.23:USB Abstract Control Model driver for USB modems and ISDN adapters

Jun 12 07:25:57 localhost usb.agent[10557]: ... no modules for USB product 870/1/100

Any ideas?

Did you already check the companys homepage for possible linux drivers? Or alternatively some driver-download-sites on the net? Keep in mind, that not all modems are supported in the mdk10 community edition (there are more supported modems in the official version)... but you should find them somewhere on the web (I hope).
