Guest dturley
MD 8.2 the KDE screensavers labeled with (GL) don't "happen" when they're selected on the KDE control center. So I don't have some OpenGL libraries installed I reckon. I know i had these these going a couple years ago with an earlier version of KDE so I'm pretty sure the neomagic card works. Trying to run chromium today I got: SDL initialized. Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0". Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0". Couldn't set GL mode: Couldn't find matching GLX visual So same proble. I seem to recall there's Mesa/glut something libraires required, but don't know which ones or what. Pointers? Ixthusdan
What is the video chip on the card? nvidia, sis, 3dfx? I looked at the neomagic websight and found them refering to legacy support, which went no where. Actually, it referenced Xi graphics, and also an X server by red hat. That's all I found. Do you know the actual chip in your unit?
Guest dturley
I installed the libMesaglut3 and libMesaGL1 rpms, and the GL screensavers in KDE now work. When trying to run chromium, I get: Loading required GL library /usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so.1.3.401 Couldn't set GL mode: Couldn't find matching GLX visual Have no idea what that means.:-/
