chris-tux
I have gkrellm working all right. I wanted to take advantage of the sensors capabilities of gkrellm and therefore insatlled lm_sensors but I can't manage to make them work together. Any idea ? TIA chris
Hashimoto
Did you do: sensors-detect in console (probably as su)? That did it in MDK9.2 and the sensors became visible to Gkrellm. I don't know if something has changed with the MDK10 & 2.6 kernel... Hashimoto Edited June 10, 2004 by Hashimoto
chris-tux
yes, I did it. I have a ASUS motherboard and I read that i must use the smbus rather than the isa but with no success
Hashimoto
Hmm.. I'm in the office now, but I'll try my luck when I get home in the evening. I'll be back. Hashimoto
Hashimoto
Sorry for the late reply; The weekend didn't quite go as I planned. And sorry to inform you that I didn't get the Gkrellm to show any sensor readings, either. I installed lm-sensors and got the detection OK, but Gkrellm does not show anything but complains that no sensors are detected. I'm in dark. Anybody else out there know what to do? NeoXP
Your Mobo, which chipset does it have?
jeffa
I have same problem, using ASAUS P4R800-VM I did sensors-detect, just said nope, none...
papaschtroumpf
gkrellm should work just fine if your sensors are setup properly. If you type "sensors" and don't get any info (or it appears all wrong) then you need to get that working first. I'd google for "lm_sensors" and the name of your motherboard and hope for a how-to of some kind. For some reason I had to know the answer before doing a sensors-detect on my machine to get it to work: (I have a k7s5a mobo) modprobe i2c-isa modeprobe it87 sensors-detect sensors-detect by itself didn't work. Of course the modules you need to add are mobo dependent.
