mysticpain
How compatible is Mandrake 10 with external USB modems? See the problem I have is both my desk top and laptop have crappy winmodems and it sucks trying to get a driver that works (which I still haven't done yet) so I want to get a good external one. I want it to be USB if possible as my laptop does not have a serial port.
VeeDubb
i know that some usb modems ARE compatible andothers are not. You might try searching the boards for 'modem' or 'usb modem' and see what you come up with. However, I would suggest you go another way. Instead of getting usb modems, or sharing a usb modem, I sugest you get a serial modem for the desktoip and a pc card modem for the laptop. There are MANY pc card modems that work, I'm sure someone here can help you find one, and the serial port modems are easier to set up as a general rule.
