littlerock
I have bought an Audigy Ls sound card. It works good in windows system. Mandrake 10 does not be able to install it. Someone can help me. Thanks
tyme
welcome to the board :) have you tried going into Mandrake Control Center -> Hardware -> Hardware list to see if it's listed with a driver - if so, what driver? Also, have your run kmix or aumix and checked to make sure the volume is up and things are unmuted?
littlerock
Thanks for replay. I take the test that you suggest. 1- In Mandrake Control Center -> Hardware -> Hardware the sound card isn't listed with a driver It reports Mark: (null) Bus : PCI Bus identifications: 1102:7:1102:1002 Bus position : 0:13:00 Description Modules : Unknown Class of support : Multimedia Audio 2- Kmix starts but don't list any mixer Aumix don't start 3- During starting of KDE I receive the message: " Sound server informational message. Errors while initializing the sound driver. Device /dev/dsp can't be opened (no such file or directory). 4- using alsaconf in su mode it reports " no supported PnP or PCI card found". tyme
all my googles say something about proprietery OSS drivers...I can't seem to find a link to them. However, I've asked someone who seems to be working on the same issue here to provide me with any information he might have (I also linked to this thread). zero0w
Oops, I didn't see this post. Anyway, an ALSA driver patch is developed to support Audigy LS: http://www.mandrakeusers.org/index.php?showtopic=14997
