Recommended Posts

Check first what is the chipset of the modem in MS Windows control panel.

If it is an agere softmodem, you can try downloading the driver from

ftp://ftp.smlink.com/linux/unsupported/

Usually the 2.7.10 and 2.9.7 works for many laptop modems.

Don't forget to install kernel-source rpm before compiling the driver.
