Michel
I know that k3b can do that..but if it is good, I don't know... never used it. Quickrip did also do this, but it seems it just discontinued, but is maybe already picked up again. Maybe a little more than you ask ... a video editor: This is for use with kde ...although you can also use them if you use something else than kde. http://kino.schirmacher.de/article/static/2 There is also one that uses the gtk (for gnome)-widgets...I'll have a look around if you want this one. You also have mencoder. There arre front-ends (graphical apps) that use mencoder: http://www.libsdl.de/projects/konverter/ It's not really for gnome ..but uses gtk(it's also a video-editor actually): http://www.libsdl.de/projects/konverter/ Don't know it t uses gtk, but maybe thos one?: http://www.libsdl.de/projects/konverter/ This app is maybe also interesting for your purpose (it is for conerting between formats "only"..not a fullfledged editor): http://www.exit1.org/dvdrip/ I can also mayeb help you if you want to do it using the commandline. Hopes these get you going. Edited May 23, 2004 by Michel
jdion81
Im not afraid of the CLI. You might want to post a little information on using CLI to do this. I have tried one of the apps you mentioned, dvdrip. This program is *very* appealing to me as I have 2 machine that I can use for this and occasionaly my laptop too for a total of 3. I like the idea of distributed processing videos.... speed! The problem that I have run into is auto / video sync is _way_ off, although I have only tried SG1 episode discs with it. I know that dvdrip uses mencode So i figure that the sync issue is something that one could tweak out but I dont know how. BTW I get the sync issue whenever I use distributed processing or not.
