iainvt Posted May 15, 2004 Report Share Posted May 15, 2004 (edited) Hi all, I am a noobie learning fast, managed to get limewire up and running, now I want to install a specific Radeon 9600 driver I downloaded from ATI, it is the Linux version as RPM, yet when I try to install I get the following; Installation failed: file /usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so.1.2 from install of fglrx-4.3.0-3.7.6 conflicts with file from package libxfree86-4.3-30mdk does any one have any idea....? moved from software by phunni Edited May 15, 2004 by phunni Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

DaveQB Posted May 17, 2004 Report Share Posted May 17, 2004 I followed those steps for an 8500 and still nothing :( After doing those steps link in fact, i only had 3-4 lines of output from fglrxinfo just saying its using Mesa software rendering etc. I pulled the fglrx rpm out and used default but nothing :( Any other ideas ??
