Configuring wireless NIC.

Hi all,

I have a Linksys wireless pcmcia NIC (WPC11) and I'm trying to configure it with Mandrake 9. Mandrake seems to recognize the card okay but the system will intermittently lock-up. Anyone have any ideas on this? I'm figuring that it's a driver or config issue but I can't seem to figure it out. I've checked quite a few websites on wireless NIC configuration under Linux but still can't get it working properly. I'm new to the world of wireless so I'm pretty sure it's something I'm not doing right.

Thanks.

How new is your card? The WPC11 was the card of choice but they recently changed the chipset. Issue this command a terminal window and let us know what if gives you.

/sbin/cardctl ident

I've been waiting, but I guess chad isn't gonna get back to us...

Anyway, I was wondering a similar question:

I want to purchase a Linksys BEFW11S4 wireless access point router with 4 port switch, and a Linksys WUSB11 wireless USB network adapter.

I'm just wondering if anybody here has these items, and is using them, and what it takes to configure them.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Sorry it took so long to reply.....

The following is the information the command returned for Socket 1:

product info: "Instant Wireless", "Network PC Card", "Version 01.02", ""

manfid: 0x0156, 0x0002

function: 6 (network)

Thanks for your help!

Chad
