kmc77
Just a little xine question. Like I stated in the topic descripition, it's not really a problem, just anoying. About every 4th or 5th time I open Xine, the color is turned all the way down (till it is b&w). I just turn it back up and everything is fine, but 4 or 5 starts later, it's back down again. Anybody have any idea what that may be? [EDIT] Forgot to tell you, I'm running MDK 10.0 CE (GNOME) Edited May 11, 2004 by kmc77
SoulSe
Not sure what is causing your problem, but it sounds like a bug. Have you tried Mplayer? I prefer it to Zine - maybe it'll give you less problems.

kmc77
Graphics card: ATI Rage 128 Ultra TF I have URPMIed Mplayer, but I can't figure out how to launch. Do I need to find a GUI?
Gowator
urpmi gmplayer (for GUI)
kmc77
Thanks, I'll give it a shot when I get home. I downloaded gxine earlier and I started/restarted the player 25 times with no problems. I guess it must have been a GUI bug. Actually, I kinda like the gxine player. I'll give Mplayer a shot and probably choose between the two. One negative for gxine - I can't figure out how to make it look a little prettier. Can it be skinned or themed?
thelorax
I suggest trying Totem, its a great Xine gui for gnome, just urpmi totem.
kmc77
Started out with Totem, but didn't like it. Not sure why, It just didn't click for me. Gowator, I'm not finding a gmplayer package. I just updated my sources also. Guess i'll look for the site and find the rpm, unless you know where I can get it right off hand. [EDIT} It appears that I could not start mplayer, because the instal failed. It's looking to download w32codec-0.52-1, but fails everytime. I guess I'll just stick with gxine. Kinda ugly, but it does the job. :D (Actually my wife says that about me on occasion ) Edited May 12, 2004 by kmc77
william
gmplayer is the command line to launch the previous installed mplayer-gui. try : urpmi mplayer-gui and you will be asked for accepting a bunch of dependencies.... Good luck
