Andrewski
OK, I definitely messed my system up... it still works, but I'll just try to do things and they won't work: regular users can't edit cron jobs nice cmd not acting nicely user cannot invoke mcc at all (doesn't prompt for password) Anyway, to solve the nice problem (that is, the problem with nice), I want to reinstall the coreutils package. However, I can't urpme it "removing package will break your system" and AFAICT, there's no --reinstall or --force flag for urpmi; I'd simply like to override the fact that I already have it installed. I think I'm missing a simple remedy to my problem, but I'm not seeing it; could y'all help me out?
chris z
i would try one of the following............ update the coreutil package from cooker. the current version is coreutils-5.1.2-1mdk. boot from the MDK install CD & choose "upgrade". it should detect any fubar'd packages & replace them automatically. Andrewski
So the upgrade option, if I 'upgrade' from 10.0CE to 10.0CE, would just reinstall fubar'd pkgs? That'd be neat....
