Noob cant keep his wireless on ...

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

First is First .. Im a total Linux noob -- this is my second system I have set mandrake 10 on and I really dont know much ...

Well I installed 10 on my laptop and all was fine -- no problems at all ... I set up my wireless card and was surfing in minutes ..

I rebooted and it was gone -- it shows the setup (eth1) but I dont see the wireless card under the harddrake ...

Well I figured I screwed something up so I just reinstalled and all was fine --- Till I rebooted -- Same again

ps .. I did not start/install any apps either time ...

Can I have a pcmcia driver issue -- Where do I start looking and what commands would I use ... Please remember Im a noob ...

What kind of card do you have? Is it set (in MCC -> Network) to start at boot? What driver are you using? What steps did you go through to set it up?

I can most likely help, but I need some more info from you so we can start looking at the various options.
