Andrewski
OK, I'm having trouble getting seti@home to work in the background. I've installed it as root, in a subfolder of root's home directory. All permissions are set correctly. By seti@home's suggestion, I've added an entry in my crontab file for root: * 1,5,9,13,17,21 * * * root cd /home/root/setiathome/ && ./setiathome -nice 19 -email > /dev/null 2> /dev/null That line works from the CLI, but it doesn't seem to pick up from cron. And I don't get any emails either. crond is running, so I really have no idea what's going on.
Ronin
I suspect this could be the problem: /home/root/setiathome It's not normally /home/root/ but just /root if that makes sense this early morning.
Andrewski
Yes, should have said that I moved my root's home directory. When formatting, I keep my /home/ partition, and I got tired of losing root's settings (mostly just bash env vars and such), so I put it therein. Any other ideas?
