I had issues with installing 10 ce those problems were fixed in 10 Official how ever new ones appeared here's how I managed to get it installed. I hope this may be of help to others with similar issues.

1. Look at your bios settings for the following : under the advanced bios features look for Apic mode and disable, under the advanced chipset tab look for Enhance Pci Performance and disable also look for Cpu Disconect Function and disable, under the Integrated Peripherals tab look for Ext-P2P Discard time and change the default from 30us to 1ms, exit and save.

2.Press f1 at the install screen and do the nolapic (noapic also if you don't have the ability to turn it off in your bios) and mem=xxxM(xxx being your amount of ram) if your memory's not being properly reported mine was only seeing 896 instead of 1024.

3. You should now be able to get through the partitioning and choosing your packaging. If your experience is like mine you'll have to deal with a few more errors hopefully you won't.

4. If you may get the following error during the post installation screen just before you get to install the bootloader; insmodd'ing module loop failed then the bootloader screen appears but the error will repeat if you try to go on so you'll have to manually specify a kernel using the advanced buttons.(I used Grub here) Select add, linux, hit the advanced tab again and select a kernel from the drop down button then in the last line retype what you've selected so you've got 2 entrys that looks like /boot/vmlinuz. Note not every one will take when you hit next you may get the insmod'ing error again, I repeated the process until I got 2 kernels acknowleged. After you get them showing up hit next and you'll probably get yet another error, something like mknode /dev/usb full cannot continue Sorry it may not be exact since I didn't write that one down.

5. If you got that error hit the reset button and remove the install disk then choose one of the kernels you've made. It should complain about not being unmounted cleanly go through it's fsdisk check and reboot itself. When it does so select the same kernel again it will go through it's check up and find that there were no lost and found directory's created in your partitions and add them you'll then be taken to the single users prompt type in reboot and put in the first install disk. WHEW congrats your almost done.

6. At the install screen hit f-1 and type in linux nolapic(noapic if you can't disable it in your bios) mem=xxxM for whatever your amount of ram and readonly=1 last one's very importent here.

7. When asked to choose if it's an upgrade or an install choose install. Then choose use existing partitions it should show you all the one's you made as well as the mount points in if correct hit next. Here Uncheck formatting any partitions. The install will then check existing packages and ask you for various disks, number depends on what you've installed. You should then be taken to the post install screen. You should now be able to complete the post installation process and fully configure your machine. Note when it installs the bootloader it will install lilo but you'll be able to change that later during the summary as well as make your final adjustments. I also recommend not choosing to Upgrade at this time.

I hope this helps others with an Nforce2 board. Also worth noting it properly set up my Nvidia agp and Ati radeon 9700 pro I'm getting over 7000 in glxgears.

Abit NF7-s bios 23, Barton 2500@200x11,1g Ozc 3500 ddr, 1 40g Maxtor hd on sata 1 via a sata/pata converter, Antec 550w psu Memorex Duel X-1 ide1 master, Lite-on 52246s slave ide1,

Liet-On DVD-rom ide2 master.

G'luck,
