Ixthusdan
I think there is a way to do this in the faq's. Check there. I don't believe that the kernel needs to be on the floppy, but the location of it obviously does.
Cannonfodder
Just a suggestion, why not try out the Mandrake move CD? Just out of curiousity, what does a boot floppy do that a boot CD doesn't (e.g. Mandrake CD1? Bypass boot managers?
Pzatch
Just put lilo on the floppy instead of a special small kernel. That way you don't need a larger formated disk. The Mandrake Controle Center should have that option. If you need a repair disk Mandrake Move is probably the way to go.
pmpatrick
There is no option to create a boot floppy in mcc for mdk10-ce. The 2.6 kernel is just too big to fit on a standard format floppy. One interesting way to get around this problem is to make a bootable cd which acts like a giant floppy. Here's a link that explains how to do this for mdk9.2 but it should be easily adaptable for mdk10: http://www.mandrakeusers.org/index.php?showtopic=11801 One big advantage of the bootable cd is that it will load much faster than a floppy and it will work even if your lilo is totally trashed. It's a little complicated but if you have questions post back and I'll do my best to respond.
