Got a 9.2 install that I've been running for several months now, recently installed the

secure kernel (via rpm) but the boot hangs or fails after saslauthd is loaded, but before the wm loads.

where should I look for messages complaining about the cause? So as to figure this out. Or any other suggestions?

Thanks all,

Jack

Is the whole boot process ahnging, or just the gui stuff? When booting, hit esc and type "linux 3" or whatever your normal boot is called. If its called "secure" you would type "secure 3" . This will boot to the command line. You can login and then type "startx", which will give you a good problem report.

If the whole boot is hanging, hit esc to see the process and watch where it hangs.
