Guest daemon_lover
Hi, I am installing Mandrake 8.0 on my cele 400mhz with 192mb ram on to a WD 4.8g hard drive. Unfortunately, I get stumped with this message: nothing found while parsing/mnt/var/lib/urpmi/hdlist.CD 1 Installation CD (x86) (cdrom1).cz I am assuming that this refers to this failing 44x cd rom that I have on my computer. I guess I could remove the cdrom with another and attempt an install, but I want to know if anyone knew what this error meant aside from pure speculation. P.S my floppy drive doesnt work DL
qeldroma
It sounds like the installation script can't handle the fiels, mentioned in the hdlist, what represents a packagelist of the install cd. Therefor it is possible, that he's got problems to find the packages after he read, that they asre somewhere... So, yes, try another cdreader, if you are sure, this one makes problems. Perhaps just don't install it totally but connect it, to see, if that's it.
