hbob
I did a fresh install of Mandrake 9.2 And I have no control panel or I should say it locks up on the screen. I go (configure your computer) I am asked for the root password and the panel begins to load and freezes, I can still run other programs (Mozzila) etc. But the control Panel window is glued to the screen. ( on top the other programs) I must log out and back in to kill the window.
chris z
2 questions........... ok, 3 questions............... :D when you say control panel, are you referring to Mandrake Control Center? have you gotten all the 9.2 updates, bug fixes, etc? if not, do so. there were several things for Control Center, Drak Tools, etc. then try MCC. if you have gotten the updates & are still having the problem, try running MCC from terminal & post any error mesages you might get. to do so, open a terminal, su to root, then type mcc & hit enter. Ixthusdan
In 9.2, all the tools had problems and needed to be updated before doing anything else, starting with urpmi. Go online and get to an updates folder, get "rpm" update first, install it, and then anything that says "drake"in it! Go here. After rpm and the tools, get all of the kde stuff.
